  • David Duchovny and Minnie Driver: Sam Rubin Interviews

    KTLA (LA) Morning News
    Archived April 4, 2000
Sam Rubin: Movie stuff now ... X Files Star David Duchovny graces the big screen in the new romantic drama "Return To Me". He and costar Minnie Driver play two people who fall in love under very, well frankly, very unusual circumstances. Their chemistry onscreen was a reflection of their relationship off screen. Here take a look... DD: I enjoy being in Minnie's presence and I think that's the heart of chemistry. It has nothing to do with like sexual chemistry. It's just like ...

Minnie Driver: It's so true, whether it's person who you end up next to at the sofa or at a boring party, who you just start talking to and you think is funny

SR: (Over clip of them dancing) Now the lack of sex scenes and display of old fashioned courtship didn't bother the stars, especially Minnie Driver.

(Both of them are kinda laughing here) MD: I did not get chills!

David Duchovny: I nuzzled your neck.

MD: I tell you what, I'd much rather have David sitting there regailing me with some story which goes on for hours which has no point and is so entertaining and you know, that's the bonus clip: David looking at her artwork ("Where is this? Europe?" ... "Would you go out with me?")

SR: (Over clip of various scenes of the two of them together in the movie) Both David and Minnie have found true love in real life so we asked, "What's the secret of finding true love?"

DD: I think, you know, there's a lot of luck involved. At least for me, it was also a matter of being ready ... reaching a certain age and being ready to have that.

SR: Well there they are. Bonnie Hunt directs "Return To Me" which opens this Friday.
