X-Files actor Duchovny stepped out for the world premiere of his latest movie with Minnie Driver last night in Hollywood - and Leoni took the opportunity to say she approves of his screen relationship with the British beauty. She explains, "He told me that there was this great script and that they were going to see if Minnie was interested and I thought that was a great idea. They have a great chemistry on screen, it's really fun. I walked out of that movie and said I am married to his character Bob. It's not hard watching him have great chemistry with another woman in fact it's a lot of fun, it's a legal fool around, it's like go, have a little fun out there and then come home." I found a whole slew of stuff to update in my mailbox but don't and won't have the time to add it until after Ellie is in bed, but I loved this and thought it took priority:David was on Kevin and Bean's KROQ radio show this morning. No doubt a transcript will appear soon. David did say again that he honestly does not know if there will be a Season 8 or not. He understands how frustrating this is for everyone - not just for the fans, but for all the crew who work on the show. He has laid down his terms for a new contract - terms that are not negotiable - that it's not just about money but about time commitment. It is up to the Fox network to make that final decision. He sounded very honest and apologetic to all concerned, that we don't yet have an answer. Thank you so much Valerie! This makes me feel very good. Wow! What a day... I had fun and I hope you did too! Now it is time for me to hit the hay and rest up for Day 3 of David Duchovny Awareness Week 2000! I caught 4 segments of Return to Me Premiere coverage yesterday plus the interviews on Later Today and Letterman. All of them have Real Media and MPEG files (except Letterman, which is too long). I am going to house all of the video clips on one page this week until I have time to create graphics for them and link them from their permanent homes. DD Video Clips Temporary Home. David Duchovny, seen on-screen with a gorilla in MGM's Friday-opening Return to Me, admits he was somewhat unnerved by his very large castmate. "I was kind of worried he'd hurt me. You know, you're not supposed to make eye contact with gorillas." Duchovny, who stars opposite Minnie Driver, says that in one scene, he was supposed to offer the gorilla some fries - "gorillas don't eat fries, but these were special zucchini strips. ...But after the fifth take, he kept throwing the fries down. ...He's a real actor. ...He gets bored easily, and needs new motivation all the time."
